Our Story & Philosophy
Steadyhands.Clearconscience.Craftcarriedforward.
Crafted Finishes was built slowly. Our approach was forged through generations of honest work — the kind of work that demands respect. Rooted in European heritage restoration, we carry forward a lineage of craftsmanship shaped by old buildings, traditional materials, and the hands of those who came before us.
Our Story
Generations of Craftsmanship

Where we started
In 2017, midway through the restoration of a timber château-style home — John the Engineer's Home — a 25-year-old Kev had just completed his Certificate III in Painting and Decorating.
Not long after, his father approached him with a simple message:
“It's time, son. We need to create our own path — our own legacy.”
For two weeks, father, brother, and son searched for a name that felt right. Something honest. Something lasting. Something that could carry the standard they believed in.
In November 2017, Crafted Finishes was born.
More than a business name, it became a modern crest — a symbol of honest work, steel-like integrity, courage, and sound craftsmanship.
A family company, built to carry its name with pride.

What drives us
Good work speaks quietly.
It's felt in the atmosphere of a room, the calm of a well-run project, and the details most people never consciously notice — but would miss if they were done poorly.
At Crafted Finishes, we believe craftsmanship is about more than appearance. It is about care, discipline, and respect for the spaces people live their lives in.
We are drawn to work that demands patience:
restoration, natural materials, fine finishes, complex surfaces, and homes with character.
The goal is never just to paint a house.
It is to leave behind a space that feels considered, grounded, and built to last.

Craftsmanship, Integrity, Ownership
Because those three words are already becoming the backbone of the company.
Good work speaks quietly.
It reveals itself in the details: the preparation beneath the surface, the steadiness of the hand, the cleanliness of the site, the calmness of the process, and the feeling left behind when the work is complete.
At Crafted Finishes, our standards are built around three principles:
Craftsmanship — doing things properly, with patience and pride.
Integrity — honest communication, clear expectations, and standing behind our work.
Ownership — taking responsibility for outcomes, not excuses.
These values shape every decision we make, from the first conversation to the final detail.

What We Believe
A home is not just a structure.
It shapes the way we live, think, gather, rest, and return to ourselves.
A study should help the mind settle. A dining room should invite conversation. A bedroom should hold peace. A games room should carry joy.
Colour, light, texture, and proportion all influence the energy of a space. When chosen with intention, they do more than decorate. They support the life that happens there.
We believe the line between people is thinner than it appears. Your home is not “just another job site” to us. It is your sanctuary — and we treat it with the same care and respect we would give our own.
We believe great spaces awaken something in us.
The quiet reverence of a chapel. The warmth of a room made for gathering. The calm of natural materials under soft light.
These things are not accidental. They are crafted.
Our work follows the same rhythm.
We begin slowly, with care and attention. We move with flow when the path is clear. We finish slowly, with patience for the final details.
Not always the fastest road.
But the road where meaning is built.

Looking Forward
Crafted Finishes continues to grow the same way it began — slowly, deliberately, and with care for the standard we carry.
Today, our team has been recognised through multiple Master Painters Awards, including award-winning restoration and artistic finishes. But for us, recognition has never been the destination. It is simply a reflection of the care, discipline, and pride poured into the work.
As we move forward, we remain committed to refining the craft.
Fine-tuning our systems. Exploring new materials and technologies. Reviving traditional products and forgotten finishes. Expanding our ability to deliver increasingly complex and prestigious projects without losing the human touch that built the company in the first place.
Above all, we aim to continue growing as craftsmen, as a team, and as a family.
One project at a time.
